Barcelona, where do I begin?
I was apprehensive at first, I didn’t know what to expect. Most said you are their favourite city. Some said you were great but a little dangerous with pick pockets and dodgyness. Everyone said you were beautiful. What if I didn’t like you?
Just so you know, you were amazing. You were everything they said (I didn’t see any of your dodgyness. You were safe even at 11pm at night for me alone).
Barcelona, you are my favourite place.
You have architecture, you have old, you have new.
Cathedral of Barcelona (La Seu)
Bell Tower of Royal Church of St. Agatha
Plaça Del Rei – King’s Square – now the Barcelona History Museum
Three different eras of history in Avinguda De La Catedral – Outside the Cathedral of Barcelona
Contemporary art – BARCA in Avinguda De La Catedral
Artwork depicting a famous historic festival in Avinguda De La Catedral
Santa Maria del Mar
Arc de Triomf
You have the hustle and bustle of a busy city, but you are filled with parks and greenery. You have space for rest, relaxation and peace (which is what I need often!).
Parc de la Ciutadella – Walkway in front of Parliament
Parc de la Ciutadella – you can hire little row boats! CUTE!
Parc de la Ciutadella – The park houses the zoo
The most beautiful fountain in Parc de la Ciutadella
Had to selfie!
Montjuïc is filled with spaces for picnics and relaxing in the sun
Beauty on Montjuïc
You have proof of architectural brilliance, with the most famous being Gaudi and his willy wonka looking designs.
La Sagrada Familia
Inspired by the forest – the way the ‘leaves’ are designed are to control the vibrations of the organ and choir
Stunning stained glass
Gaudi museum in Park Güell
You have mountains that offer views of you on a plate. Mesmerising those who look upon you.

You have night life filled with tapas and sangria (who wouldn’t love that). Unfortunately, I don’t have photos of that fun, so here’s more flowers from Montjuïc.
You have a beach so crisp and so clean with a summer coming that promises golden rays and warm water.
Best of all, you have a culture embedded in you that is so loving, so warm, so socially and family orientated that I couldn’t help seeing myself living here.
I spent five days as if I was living amongst all you have to offer. You were easy to get around and you have so much to do.
Barcelona, you were magnificent. You have it all. I will be back to explore the rest of Spain, all of it. If it’s anything like you, I will love it from the moment I see it.
